Tech Us Out!
Picture
In honor of the national week of making we are hosting a special series called Tech Us Out. This series is composed of 2 separate parts: The first part of this series is the DIY Traveling workshops which cover the top 3 computer upgrades. The second part is a computer building event June 23rd on the Bernie Milton Pavilion on the Commons.

DIY Traveling Workshops: Top 3 Computer Upgrades - June 17,20,21,23
*Open to all ages* No registration required

This is a free workshop will cover upgrading and installing the top 3 Do-It-Yourself Computer upgrades. We will cover the Hard Drive, which dictates your storage space, RAM which defines how much memory your computer has (often correlated to how fast the computer is) and the graphics card, for when you want better graphics. You can bring you own computer and parts to work on during this workshop however they are not necessary. Everyone will have the opportunity to try it on demonstration computers. Space varies according to the limitations of the venue location.

Build It -N- Keep It: June 22nd

*Teens ages 13-19* Pre-Registration Required

On June 22nd we will have the largest FREE teen computer building class on the commons at the Bernie Milton Pavilion. Currently, we are seeking tech teen builders and volunteer technicians/computer builders to assist the teens in setting up as well as regular volunteers for the event. The ages for the builders are 13-19. We are striving to a 1-2 person ratio. We also will have a special guest on stage building a computer; Miss New York from the Miss America Organization. Yes pictures can be taken ;) They will keep the computer they build along with the tools provided. A confirmation email will be sent to teens who have been accepted.

Please pass this along to your network to help increase attendance. If you have any teens, techies, friends or organizations that you think would benefit from this event please forward them the information or let me know and I would love to contact them directly.
